Taylor or Martin? December 24, 2005

The question is – “which acoustic brand is preferred?”

For my taste, Taylor wins hands-down. Granted, I have heard a number of Martins that sounded amazing, but there’s just something about their feel that I don’t care for too much. Taylors on the other hand, seem to always feel right when I play them. I prefer to put a mellow string on them, but even when they are a little tinny they still sound and play great.

The 815CE won the playoff during the last trip to the guitar store. We’ll have to see if I ever pony up to get one. My material self says I can perform better during worship services with this guitar, but no matter how hard I try, I can’t rationally say that pearl inlays improve my ability to worship the Creator.
